Whiter teeth help you feel confident, younger and help make a good first impression. Here are a few tips for whiter teeth
1. Don't over brush
Do not brush too often and too hard - it can scrub off the enamel on your teeth. Wait at least a half hour to an hour before brushing and always brush teeth softly.
2. Limit tea, coffee and wine
For whiter and brighter teeth, cut back on wine, coffee and tea. They can stain and weaken your teeth over time. If possible, drink these out of straws to lessen the contact. Also, avoid other dark-coloured drinks.
3. Chew gum
Chewing gum not produces more saliva in your mouth but also helps cleanse teeth. Increased saliva production counteract the bacteria that causes tooth decay and gum diseases. Moreover, chewing gums reduces stress levels and also lessens your craving for sweet foods.
4. Avoid acidic foods
Acidic foods contribute to yellow teeth. Avoid foods like sports drinks, sodas, lemons, hard candy, tomatoes and starchy foods. Consume more of nuts, water and whole grains.
5. Eat crunchy foods
Eat crunchy foods like apples, celery, carrots and pears that clean, whiten teeth and remove particles that cause stains. Eat in their whole form not in the juice form.
